Wash day: reverting back to curly after silk press

April 13, 2016

After having my hair straight for three weeks I decided to wash my hair. Alot of people around me were curious to see if my hair would be damaged after my silk press. So I decided to share this with you too.

I start my wash day with a simple hot oil treatment that consists of olive oil and coconut oil. If I don’t have anything to do the next day I leave it overnight but if I do I leave it on my hair for at least three hours.
Then I shampooed
my hair with the Creamy Aloe Shampoo by ORS and deep conditioned overnight with the Replenishing Conditioner from the same brand. A few days later I followed up with a homemade banana protein hair mask.

Here you can see my hair after I washed it without any product, it’s about 70% dry. I have no heat damage whatsoever! My curls are more defined after I got my hair trimmed.

To all my naturals out there don’t forget to get your hair trimmed by a professional. This makes a huge difference in the definition of your curls and helps you maintain length. Split ends just lead to breakage and makes it seem like it’s not growing. Don’t forget to moisturize your hair whenever it’s needed.

Keep up with this and you’re curls will be healthy and popping in no time!

I put the oils in a applicator bottle and put that in hot water.
