Black Up Full Coverage Cream Foundation – Oil Free | Review

June 16, 2016

Oh the struggle of finding the right foundation when you have oily skin..

I have been looking for a great oil free/matte foundation for a while now. I’ve watched countless videos on Youtube and read alot of reviews on blogs and other websites but I’ve never really found one that I actually loved. That was until I saw a review by Jackie Aina on youtube.

I decided to do more research online. I got on www.blackupcosmetics.com and noticed that they have shade matching services implemented on their website and you can get a sample for a really good price. This is actually  amazing and easy for people who don’t have access to their products.

After doing my research I went to the store and bought the shade I was recommended which was hc10. At the store everything looked pretty good on my skin after she set it with powder and stuff so I went ahead and purchased it for €35.

The first time I applied it I was not sure if I liked it. The foundation was a little too orange and I actually wanted a foundation that was exactly my shade. As time went by I realized that it was the perfect shade. I just had to wait until it sets into my skin. Everything blends so well together after I conceal, contour, highlight.

The foundation is not dry at all. It’s matte but has a velvet finish. I always make sure I use a mattifying primer and powder to set everything. You can also use a finishing spray like Urban Decay’s All Nighter Setting Spray.

This is the best foundation I have tried so far. My face stays matte for 8 to 10 hours. This definitely gets an A+ from me.

Which foundation do you use? Let me know in the comments section below.

Which affordable drugstore foundations do you recommend that offer some coverage? I recently moved to Belgium from the U.S. and have not been able to find shades for darker skin tones… I have looked at Kiko (not my shade), Hema (have my shade, but foundation is too oily), and all the other major stores but they mainly cater to beige skin tones. The Black opal foundation sticks are not a good option for my oily skin. Any advice you have would be greatly appreciated! I just stumbled upon your blog and its been a great read so far! xoxo

      Hi Destiny,

I hope you are enjoying our beautiful rainy country 🙂

I don’t own many foundations but I really like the Pure Light foundation by Yves Rocher. It retails for €9,95. It’s a very lightweight foundation, light to medium coverage. I use the Prime and Fine primer by Catrice before I apply that foundation. It’s a pore refining, mattifying primer. You can find that at Kruidvat for €4.

NYX cosmetics is opening a store in Gent on June 22nd. Their Stay Matte But Not Flat foundation retails for about €12. You should definetly check that out.

Don’t forget to prime your face and set everything with powder. I also recommend the NYX’s matte setting spray. It’s bomb and retails for €9.

Let me know if these work for you!
      Thanks for stopping by.
      xoxo
