We all know how hard it is to enjoy the holidays when you’re trying to stay healthy. We’re flooded with all kinds of cakes, stuffing, sauces, snacks, drinks etc.. Continue reading if you, like myself, are trying to stick to your new healthy lifestyle during the holidays.
Eat healthy during the day
Do not skip a meal and try to eat healthy during the day. Breakfast gets you ready for the day. It gives you the energy you need to get things done. When you go a long period without food you will start getting tired and have migraines. Eat healthy so you can indulge a little bit during dinner. Don’t forget about portion control tho.
Stick to your regular workout routine
There’s nothing worse than having a feeling that you’re off track. Especially when you know that you have eaten so many calories and you’ve done nothing to burn them. Remember every time you workout you will need to consume more calories to make up for the ones you burned in the gym. Go the the gym on Christmas eve or have a little workout at home, trust me you will fill less guilty when having a cheeky dessert.
Keep drinking 1,5l to 2l of water a day. This will keep you hydrated and you will not have the urge to drink any alcohol or soda. If you still want to drink something sweet just drink something with the least amount of calories or drink a small glass whatever you like. It won’t do you any harm.
Avoid unhealthy snacks
Avoid the salty & sugary snacks. Go for the healthier options.
